Blackhouse Grill on The Square | Leeds

 Over the weekend, me and my favourite girls celebrated the last of our 21st birthday celebrations. For each of our birthdays, we have had amazing weekends. I'm the eldest, so we celebrated mine first in Leeds, the next in Manchester then London (Both a first for me but London was AMAZING - see video of our trip here) and for the baby of the group we decided to return to Leeds, as it is one of our favourite cities to go out in!

 I think Leeds will always hold a special place in my heart as it was the first city I went clubbing in. Before that, I had only been out in my hometown of Cleethorpes. Leeds is a beautiful, yet tiny city everything is within walking distance. I love the shopping, cocktail bars, night life and restaurants! For this occasion we decided to try Blackhouse.
 The first thing I noticed was the beautiful fairy lights that fall from the ceilings to the floor, such a pretty touch!
We were warmly greeted upon our arrival and shown to our table. Time for the drinks! Priorities.
 As we were celebrating a 21st, it would be rude not to have some bubbly!
For starters, we enjoyed a Garlic Rub Bread. This was another first for me. I thought the idea was genius! So simple but it tasted so much better than regular garlic bread, and who doesn't love bread and dipping oil?
Sloe Gin Crush - Hayman's Sloe Gin, Elderflower liquer, lemon juice, Monin Passion Fruit and fresh Passion Fruit. The Cocktails were lovely and original but Alchemist is still yet to be beaten. 
For starters, I also shot back some Oysters. They were served with chopped shallots in sherry vinegar, and of course lemon & Tabasco. These oysters were huge and set the meal off perfectly. 

 For mains, I ordered the Grilled Lobster. As a lover of seafood, I was thrilled to see this on the menu as it isn't something I get to enjoy regularly. It was heavenly! Served with home cut-chips and a garlic butter sauce.
We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Two of us ordered the Lobster while the other two ordered a Fillet steak, described as the most tender cut. Delicate, sweet and delicious. They too went down a treat!
The Blackhouse is known for its steaks and offers a whopping £55 cut of Wagyu Fillet, the daddy of all steaks. It is claimed to be the most tender, scucculent and tastiest meat in the world. From the Wagyu breed, it is reared on a beer diet and massaged from birth...lucky cow!

 I was really impressed with the variety on the menu, there were so many tasty dishes to choose from. Definitely something for everyone and at extremely reasonable prices for the quality of the food served!
During our dining experience, we got to listen to some really lovely live music. 
 More drinks!
 Within the restaurant, is a huge fish tank that also displays the talented chefs at work. (To my relief there were no lobsters swimming around.)
I must mention the outstanding service of staff from all the team at Blackhouse. We were handed drinks by bubbly waiters and when I sneaked aside to ask for a surprise dessert for my friend nothing was too much trouble.

 As the evening advanced, the restaurant became even more beautiful!

Me and my friends had a fantastic evening at Blackhouse and we shall definitely be returning on our next trip to the city. Fantastic food, excellent service and a gorgeous restaurant! Great start to the night. Once again, Leeds you have not disappointed!
