Armed Forces Weekend 2015 | Cleethorpes

Armed forces weekend took place in Cleethorpes this weekend 27th-28th June. What a glorious weekend it was, the weather couldn't have been better! It is always one of the highlights of the year for the town and I think it was another great success.

Stalls are set up along the promenade, they stretch right the way along from Cleethorpes Leisure centre up to The Pier.
Such a gorgeous day for a great event!
I love seeing Cleethorpes packed with people and colour.
A friend and I decided to browse the stalls around midday. The sun was high in the sky and it was a glorious day to browse along the seafront.
There was tons of stalls to browse, something for the whole family to enjoy.

Many of the stalls were selling various types of food, themed from all over the world. Although nothing beats traditional Fish&Chips!!

Once we had finished browsing along the promenade, we headed straight to Sea View Street.
This area of Cleethorpes had the roads closed ready for the Armed Forces parade.
This allowed great street parties to be held!
Sea View Street was buzzing with life. Local shops all took part in the event and decorated their shop fronts.
More stalls held down Sea View Street to browse.
At the bottom of the lane, on Cambridge Street was a lovely street party with a makeshift outdoor bar.
This was put together by the lovely people at We Are People Bar (Check out more about We Are People Bar here.) What better way to celebrate the weekend than an outdoor street party?

It would be rude not to stop for beverages!

Plenty of bouncy castles to keep the kids entertained.

I had a great time browsing along the seafront and the street party had a great atmosphere. Unfortunately I was unable to stay for the whole event. This meant missing out on the grand parade. The parade started assembling at Knoll Street and marched through the streets of Cleethorpes celebrating the men and women of the Armed Forces. This day ended with a bang! A huge firework display was held on the seafront Saturday night. Sunday was another gorgeous day, action packed with a marvellous Military Air Display. The Famous Vulcan performed an impressive display, along with appearances from iconic Spitfire, the American B17 bomber and the Hurricane.
