This week my boyfriend and I went on a trip to Yorkshire Wildlife Park, the UK's No1 walkthrough wildlife adventure. He surprised me with VIP tickets, for my 21st birthday last year. Finally we got round to booking it and it couldn't have been a more perfect day!
Watch video here.
We went during the last week of June, which happened to be the nicest day of the year so far! Walking around a wildlife park, during a gorgeous heat wave, really made us feel like we were abroad.
As part of our experience, we were allowed 'back stage' and got up close and personal to playful baboons.
We were introduced to the gang and got to know each of the characters before feeding them.
We choose the 'hoof stock' experience, which included feeding ant eaters, coatis, marmosets, armadillos, squirrel monkeys, lemurs and giraffes!
The marmosets were cheeky characters and jumped all over us! We also go to enjoy armadillo cuddles.
By far my favourite part of the experience was feeding the giraffes. They were apsolutely stunning. They bowed down their heads to our level, to feed off the branches. I have never been this close to giraffes before and fell in love!
Once we had finished our experience we decided to explore to rest of the park, where we saw zebras, tigers, leopards and much more!
My favourite animal at the park was the polar bears! This was the first time I had seen polar bears in person, I could't help but fall in love with them. This one in particular loved playing up to the camera.
Surprisingly they were enjoying the sun as much as we were!
Look at the size of them paws!
As it was so hot this day the animals weren't too active, but we managed to get good views of the animals basking in the sun.
Thank you for reading.
Much love, The Hungry Little Lady x
