The Hungry Little Lady Travels | Cannes

During my travels to the south of France, the girls and I stopped off in Cannes. We stopped here for the shortest amount of time and I think it was one of the prettiest places we visited, so I simply had to share this trip with you first! The French Rivera is by far one of the stunning places I've visited in the world, so far and I can't wait to return! Here is my travel diary for Cannes.
We were awoken by bright blue skies, the sun was already up high. We mused over our fresh coffees, crepes and croissants for breakfast. For a lot of the holiday we had to point at menus, gushing 'oui oui!' (our French was most certainly not up to scratch). It was a typically clichĂ© French morning and we were excited to visit a new city on the south coast of France.
After a short bus ride, gazing out and taking in the French towns and scenery, we arrived at our sunny destination: Cannes.
We arrived at the glorious port area, the sun gleaming on the yachts and boat reflections on the still water.
We immediately took to the beach to find glorious stretches of palm trees contrasting against white buildings and sandy beaches.
I never expected the water to be this blue! The  water stretches all the way out onto the horizon with stunning mountains in the distance. I really didn't expect the French Rivera to be as beautiful as it was and had to kept pinching myself throughout the trip.
We could only tear ourself away from the view to break for lunch. After dining out most days and nights, on this occasion we decided to make our own picnic. We leisurely strolled the streets of Cannes and came across a supermarket. Although we had indulged in some seriously delicious French cuisine, it was nice to explore the supermarket and browse for fresh baguettes, cheeses and ham (which were amazing by the way). We clutched our purchases and took them down to beach, where we perched on a wall, gazing out towards the crashing waves and mountains. So many passers by yelled, 'Bon AppĂ©tit!' Stuffed, we lazily strolled back down the seafront when we found Cristal Beach Cannes - Food, Sushi & Cocktails.

Cristal Beach is a cocktail bar/restaurant and is located right on the beach. Cocktails on the beach? I'm in!

The bar and restaurant is full of white simple, yet modern interior, looking out onto the gorgeous blue horizon.
We made ourselves comfortable on the funky outdoor sofas in the relaxed seating area and browsed the impressive cocktail menu.

Chilled house music playing over the sound of the crashing waves just metres away from us. We were greeted warmly and immediately handed some bread and dipping olive oil, exclaiming we had just eaten and couldn't possibly eat anything else, they swapped our bread for a dish of sweets insisting we had something to accompany our drinks.
The bar had an impressive collection of liquors to choose from. During happy hour each cocktail is €7.50.

The friendly staff were quick and attentive and served us the most incredible cocktails we have ever had (I'm talking better than Alchemist people!) Lucy ordered her favourite 'June Bug' while me and Roannah went for classic Mojitos.

I simply had to order a Mojito. Classic and not very exciting- yes, but it's my absolute favourite drink and this certainly went down a treat in the hot afternoon sun. It was tangy and refreshing served ice cold with a good splash of rum, yum!
We tucked into our cocktails excitedly, taking in the view and chatting about what more was to come of our trip. This was a definite 'pinch-me' I'm in paradise, moment of the trip.
The girls and I spent the afternoon tucking into delicious cocktails and planning our next adventures.
Plenty of sun-loungers were on offer on the white beach, by the very inviting waves.
We had an amazing time in Cannes, exploring the beach, having a supereb French picnic and window shopping along the likes of Channel and YSL but Cristal Beach was by far our favourite pit stop.
More drinks! Roannah and Lucy went for Pina Coladas, while I ordered a Diamond Fizz. The Pina Coladas were the perfect blend of coconut and pineapple- so dreamy! The Diamond Fizz was topped up with prosecco and had a delicious crisp hit to it.

Girls on tour.
Eventually the sun began to die down and we simply didn't want to leave!
We raised our glasses in the late afternoon sun celebrating our time on our travels.

Unfortunately, we didn't get to try any of the food as we were so stuffed from our picnic! However, I would highly recommend checking out Cristal Beach if you are ever in Cannes. Chilled vibes, crashing waves and choice of cocktails, what more could you want?
