The Festive Party Look

With all these Christmas parties and NYE fast approaching - tis the season to be getting sparkly! Here is my festive party makeup look. The key here is longevity; you want something that's still going to look good past midnight. We all have that friend that likes to snap away the events of the night on Instagram and you don't want to be worrying about touching up your makeup, or smearing your lipstick at the stroke of midnight. So here I have picked the best of the bunch to keep your festive party look intact all night.

Primers:

While alot of people skip this step, I like to use a couple. I smooth over some Benefit POREfessional on my T-zone, where I'm prone to getting shiny as I find it matifys and creates a smooth base ready for foundation. Next I apply some Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow Primer over the rest of my skin. I'm currently working my way through a bunch of testers, but I will definitely be purchasing the full size as this stuff really is magic within in a bottle. It immediately brightens the skin and gives you a glow from within.

Base:

Estée Lauder Double Wear. This stuff doesn't budge! It's not often I whip out my DW foundation as it is full coverage, but I like to use this when it's a special occasion such as a wedding or NYE and I know there is going to be alot of photos and even more dancing... This is my weapon of choice. While this foundation doesn't need setting in place with a powder as it has great staying power, I will dust a touch of Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot over the top for maximum anti-shine, the only shine you want in you life is your sparkly dress.

Brows:

I stick to my trusty Benefit Brow Zings as i'm not very adventurous when it comes to trying brow products. This little baby is great as I can create definition and fill in where needed then layer the wax over the top to set things in place.

Cheeks:

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow. I think this may just be the most beautiful piece of makeup I have ever owned. This stuff is seriously dreamy! The sculpt powder is great for contouring my *non-existent* cheek bones, while the highlight gives you that Victoria Secret Model glow! I skip blusher as I'm bound to get a rosy flush from hitting up the dance floor.

Eyes:

I always go to my trusty Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette as the eyeshadows are silky and sparkly, perfect for creating festive looks. Of course I go in with flick of winged eye liner using my Collection Fast Stroke Eyeliner. I like to complete the look with lashings of DIOR Diorshow Black Out for long luscious lashes.

Lips:

Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Red Carpet Red. I am a huge fan of red lips and rock them all year round but at Christmas it's essential in completing my festive party look. This one from CT is by far the best red lipstick I have ever worn. I like to line my lips with Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Savage Rose a formula that increases longevity on the lips and oomphs up your pout. This pencil creates the perfect outline, so you can simply apply the lipstick on top, straight from the tube as the square bullet makes it really easy to apply. Everyone who loves to wear a classic Gwen Stafani/Dita Von Teese red, needs to have this colour in their collection as it is just stunning and the staying power is incredible.

What's your go-to red lippy or do you prefer to rock a smokey eye? I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and fabulous New Year!

Thank you for reading.
Much love, The Hungry Little Lady x
