August Favourites

Here is a round up of my favourite things over the past month. Including a few beauty bits, some style picks and my latest Netflix addiction.

After wearing my Black Opium (also by YSL) for over one year, I was ready to try something new, and something a bit lighter than my beloved fragrance. YSL perfumes are heavier than that I would normally go for, but the scents are so alluring I always end up falling in love with them! What I love about this perfume is that it has layers. It's not your typical girly, sweet fragrance. The scent is fruity and refreshing but as you apply it, the scent deepens to create a unique, seductive musky scent making it perfect for day and night!

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only gal having a liquid lippy moment, swooning over cult Lip Kits by Kylie Jenner. So I decided to make my own perfect lip kit and this matte liquid lipstick from Maybelline has been my favourite pick of the bunch. It's so dreamy to apply as it's thick, but dries on the lips quickly so you don't feel like you're wearing anything. Unlike other matte liquid lipsticks, this one is surprisingly comfortable to wear and the colour pay off is uh-mazing, making it the perfect nude.

Of course I had to pair my new liquid lippy with the perfect liner. I found this one, on a whim as it caught my eye right next to the tills. I'd never tried any make-up from New Look before but it looked like a gorgeous nude, so in my basket it went! This lip liner has a really creamy constancy, which makes it a pleasure to apply as some liners can really drag on your lips. Although it is described as light brown, I would say it is definitely a nude-pink colour and matches the colour my liquid lippy in Nude Trill perfectly. If that wasn't good enough this baby comes in at just £1.99!

While we haven't had the greatest summer in England this year, I've been reaching for these at the slightest glimpse of sunlight. I'd been swooning after the round metal gold frames by Ray-Ban for a few years. When I saw them with copper flash lenses, I purchased them immediately! The style is so classic and I'm so in love with the rose-gold coloured lenses as they add the perfect pop of colour to my almost monochrome wardrobe. These sunnies can make any outfit look cooler!

And for the days that haven't been so sunny, I've been reaching for my trusty yellow rain coat. Putting it on makes me so happy! The bright yellow colour is quirky while the pinstripe lining gives it a cool nautical vibe. Much to everyone's dismay, I'm so happy to look out the window and see grey rain clouds as it means I can wear my new rain coat! It has definitely given me that new school shoes feel as I just want to wear it all the time.

I'm guessing you've heard of this show by now... Everyone has been talking about it - and for good reason. It hooks you immediately and I love that it's set in the 80s. Stranger Things is an American sci-fi/supernatural horror. It's not something I would normally go for (being a lover of rom coms and chick flicks). I've loved watching this on days that have been particularly rainy. Also the show has rekindled my love for actress Winona Ryderan iconic actress staring in lots of films particularly during the 90s. After checking out Stranger Things, I would highly recommend watching Edward Scissor Hands and Mermaids, two of my favourites staring Wiona Ryder.

 Thank you for reading.
Much love, The Hungry Little Lady x
